Connecticut Online Counseling
Licensed Counselors Serving People Across Connecticut
In recent years, more of our lives seem to be taking place online, and when it comes to therapy, it only makes sense that skilled counselors would start to bring counseling sessions to you virtually. Connecticut Online Counseling is part of the Stokes Counseling Services family. We have already delivered effective therapy services for local residents in our Naugatuck office and in the home for those participating in our FAM Program. Now, we’re widening our circle of care to include the entire state of Connecticut through our online, telehealth counseling services. When you’re ready to get started making positive life changes, the Connecticut Online Counseling team is here to bring effective therapy solutions to you anywhere.
What is Online Counseling?
Online counseling with our team is going to look a lot like a traditional counseling session. Some counselors do offer things like text counseling or email counseling, but we find that for these solutions to truly be effective, you need to spend some time face to face (virtually) with one of our skilled clinicians. Like in person sessions, you’ll be able to talk to your counselor about any life challenges and develop plans to confront and work through them. All of this can take place right in the comfort of your own home.
Why Online Counseling?
There are so many reasons why people are choosing to access therapy professionals online.
Some of those we hear most often include:
- More options when you live in a rural area
- Easily accessible for people with physical limitations
- Convenient for busy schedules
- Often more affordable than traditional therapy
""There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you."
~ Maya Angelou"
How Does it Work?
The Connecticut Online Counseling team utilizes the innovative Doxy.me telehealth system to make your online therapy sessions easier. There’s nothing to download, it’s completely free, and your privacy is guaranteed with fully HIPAA and HITECH compliant software – all accessible from your computer, tablet, or phone with a video camera and microphone!
So, how does it work? It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3:
- Get your clinician’s personalized site link, which is usually “doxy.me/ClinicianName”
- Open the link in a browser on any device
- Type in your name and click the “Check In” button
Your counselor will see your name and start the session. It’s that easy.
Does My Insurance Cover E-Therapy?
Each person’s medical insurance plan represents a unique contract, so we’ll need to review your specific policy to determine whether or not you will receive coverage. If you have questions about insurance coverage or treatment costs, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our knowledgeable team. We’ll be happy to help you review your policy or apply for pre-approval.
How do I Get Started?
To get started, simply give the Connecticut Online Counseling team a call or complete our online request form. We’ll be happy to answer any questions you have and schedule a first session for you. We look forward to working with you to achieve your therapy goals from the comfort of your own home, office, or other private location, using any device.
